Standards development workshop: Using standards to improve instruction

This workshop is designed to guide participants through the process of applying standards to the teaching/learning context. Using teacher standards as the starting point, participants will explore the role of standards in describing effective teacher performance. They will then relate this new understanding of standards to applications relevant to improving classroom environments. In hands-on activities, participants will explore ways to use standards by designing standards-based observation checklists.
