abstract
This workshop focuses on several important and effective strategies for improving communication and resolving conflict. After reflecting over various theories, participants learn and practice useful strategies, respond to various conflict scenarios, and participate in simulations that come from possible situations within the workforce as well as educational institutions. Extensive handouts will be provided for participants.

Biodata
José A. Carmona is Chair of Modern Languages and the Adult Education ESOL Program Advisory Board at Daytona Beach Community College. In addition, he is the president of Northeast Florida TESOL, a regional chapter of Sunshine State TESOL in Florida. Jose is also is the vice-president of SSTESOL, and the newsletter editor for the AEIS at TESOL. He has published five books, including his own book of poetry, and he is currently editing volume three of Perspectives on Community College ESL for TESOL. He received his MA and EdM in teaching Spanish and bilingual education from Columbia University/Teachers College where he is currently finishing his dissertation on integrating literature across the curriculum.
