abstract
Research has shown teaching to be the single most significant school-based factor for affecting student success. Therefore, it is incumbent on all institutions to follow effective practices to find and hire the best and brightest teachers. The primary objective of this session is to offer a coherent and systematic approach to arrive at this goal. The two experienced recruiters will (1) define the challenges schools face in the competition for highly qualified instructors and, (2) identify practical strategies for the successful recruitment of teaching personnel. The key concepts of message, marketing, materials and technology will be the focus of the presentation. Participants will receive a handout of selected recruitment activities, an outline of the presentation, and a list of references.
