Due to a lack of presentation content, the Thursday event on research has been cancelled. Presentations have been scheduled into the regular CTELT schedule.

The 13th Annual Current Trends in English Language Testing Conference (CTELT) will take place at Dubai Men’s College on November 18-20, 2009. The theme of CTELT 13 is “Teacher Development in Language Assessment.” This theme emphasizes the importance of learning more about all aspects of the assessment process. This annual conference is organized by the TESOL Arabia Testing, Assessment, and Evaluation SIG.

CTELT 2009 will feature a book and software exhibition as well as over 20 presentations showcasing some of the excellent testing and teacher education work being done in the region.

This year the conference will take place on Wednesday, November 18th and Friday, November 20th. On Thursday, November 19th a special event on research will be held for a limited number of participants. Registration begins at 8:30 am and the morning plenary begins at 9:30 am. The conference is expected to end at 4:00 pm on November 18th and 1:00 pm on November 20th.

On November 20th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm CTELT attendees have the opportunity of attending a special event organized by Division B Toastmasters and the newlyestablished TESOL Arabia Leadership & Management SIG. This training event will feature Mark Hunter, the 2009 World Champion of Public Speaking (Toastmasters International).

CTELT Conference registration is free for TESOL Arabia members and 50 AED per day for non-members. Please bring your membership cards with you. Lunch is available in the DMC cafeteria at an additional cost to participants.
